The second edition of L’Etape Greece by Tour de France was held around Historic Olympia in Western Greece on Saturday 6 April, with previous Olympian and UCI Mountain Bicycle World Winner Periklis Ilias winning the 128km gran fondo race.
The 37 year-old Greek rider concluded in 3:30:04, beating Charalampos Kastrantas (3:31:10) and Matinos Moutsios (3:31:16) by around a person moment. Argyro Milaki received the women’s competitors in 3:42:35, with Fasoi Varvara and Anna Olga Mitsou finishing the podium
In the 76 km medio fondo race, the winner was Konstantinos Rakintzis (2:11:30), who regardless of crashing during the race managed gain by over a single moment. Elisavet Dimou was the fastest girl, ending in 2:32:34.
Just under 1200 cyclists participated in the event, portion of the worldwide L’Etape gran fondo sequence of novice cycling races.
