On Sunday the UCI Gravel Earth Series rolled into Austria for the first time at Wörthersee Gravel Race, with 1000 riders from 30 nations hoping to qualify for the 2024 UCI Gravel Earth Championships.
Austrian Sebastian Schönberger (Team Felt Felbermayr) took the all round win on the 144km fifty percent asphalt, fifty percent gravel class with a blistering rapid time of 4:00:23. Paul Voß (Autsaid) of Germany arrived in 2nd location at 4:00:50, with the Belgian Daam Soete (Deschacht Hens Maes CX) up coming at 4:50:52.
Giada Borghesi (Lapierre BTC City Lluibjana) of Italy received the women’s race in 4:28:36, followed intently by Geerike Schreurs (Specialized SD Worx) of the Netherlands in 4:28:40 and Carolin Schiff (Canyon CLLCTV) at 4:29:22 from Germany.
Novice age team category winners on the 144km system were: W19-34 Anna Kollmann-Suhr, W35-39 Zsofia Toth, W40-44 Nada Voracova, W45-49 Sonja Tajsich, M19-34 Manolo Wrolich, M35-39 Christian Brack, M40-44 Karol Sładek, M45 -49 Guido Paolo Dracone, M50-54 Vladi Riha, M55-59.
The 97km gravel medio fondo age team winners were being: W50-54 Marijke De Smedt, W55-59 Kathi Sigmund, W60-64 Nadia Sgarbossa, M60-64 Andrej Zavbi, M65-69 Hermann Mandler, M70-74 Alfred Lechnitz and M75-79 Pierluigi Talamona.
Riders ending in the leading 25% of their age/gender classification quickly qualify to take part in the 2024 UCI Gravel Earth Championships getting spot in Belgium following autumn.
